Terms & Conditions

THE COMPANY means Lighting Online Group Limited trading as Outdoor Lighting Store Registered in Scotland SC432199.

These conditions and the contract shall be subject to and construed in accordance with the Law of Scotland and do not affect your statutory rights.

 

PRODUCT PRICING

All Goods Supplied are produced to the European and British quality and safety standard specification and comply with current legislation. Measurements and wattages are given as a guide and may vary. All our prices are inclusive of VAT and include the price of delivery to mainland UK. Unless otherwise stated light bulbs are purchased separately. Images are for illustration purposes only.

We make every effort to ensure that the pricing displayed on our website is correct. However, if an error in the pricing of a product is found we reserve the right to either cancel your order or contact you to arrange payment of any extra sum due or refund any over-payment made by you (as applicable). The processing of an order can be cancelled or corrected by us at anytime up to the shipment of that order and any related items.  We reserve the right to alter all product pricing without notice.

 

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Company cannot be held responsible for errors in descriptive, pictorial or written material issued or published by the manufacturers of goods offered for sale, although the Company makes every effort to ensure that all information supplied to the customer by way of description and/or illustration is correct and accurate. It reserves the right to make changes without prior notice to any such material be it printed or on the company web site.

 

CUSTOMER INFORMATION

You should always check that your Contact Details & Address are correct before creating a customer account or proceeding to payment.

You are responsible for maintaining your own username and password, where required to access your customer account & that information remains confidential.

As a customer you are responsible for your customer account and actions taken within it. If you are aware or suspect that your customer account username and password or other details have become known to a third party, you should inform us immediately.

 

ACCEPTANCE OF ORDERS

As above, the Company makes every effort to ensure that all information supplied to the customer by way of description and/or illustration is correct and accurate. It remains the responsibility of the customer and/or the end user or their agent to: 

1. Determine the suitability of the goods for the required application. 
2. Check the acknowledgement and report any irregularities (ie model, make, colour) immediately within 24 hours.
3. Check the item being delivered is correct.
4. The order becomes a contract only after the company has confirmed its ability to supply the said goods. 

The Company only accepts an order once a payment is made and confirmed by our payment partner or bank.

Title in any products ordered from us does not pass to you, the purchaser until we have received and processed a valid payment, and that payment has been made into our own bank account and your order has been shipped.

 

PRODUCT WARRANTY

Please refer to our Warranty Page by clicking here.  A qualified and insured electrician must carry out installation of Goods otherwise the warranty will be void. If Goods have become compromised as a result of misuse this warranty is void.

 

DELIVERY – STANDARD DELIVERY

All orders through Outdoor Lighting Store are dispatched using a courier service and in stock items should be delivered within 3 -5 working days, unless otherwise advised.

The courier will not contact you in advance to advise of delivery & if no one is available to take delivery, a calling card will be left. If you do not contact the courier, a further attempt will be made. If the courier is still unable to deliver after this point the Goods will be returned to Outdoor Lighting Store. If you require re-delivery, Outdoor Lighting Store reserves the right to charge additional shipping costs.  

We cannot be held responsible for:

  • Disruption to shipping caused by industrial disputes or action outside our direct control. If such disruption occurs you will be offered delivery via an alternative delivery or fulfilment company or a full refund
  • Late delivery due to stock availability
  • Costs incurred by the customer
  • Contractor's fees or costs

Damage to glass, mirror or plaster must be advised by email to info@outdoorlightingstore.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery.

 

CANCELLATIONS & RETURNS

Non-Faulty Returns & Cancellations

Please ensure that you are ordering precisely what you require to avoid any unnecessary expense later. If the goods ordered are not what you receive please advise us by email on the day of delivery where possible.

Under Distance Selling Regulations you have a right to cancel your purchase. However, to exercise this right you must notify us in writing, (email or letter) within 14 days from the day after your goods are delivered to your shipping address. 

As stated above notification of cancellation must be in writing, a telephone call is not a valid cancellation.

No right of cancellation, refund or return exists under the Distance Selling Regulations once you have used your product, unless the product is defective and we have the chance to supply a replacement. 

Goods that are sealed or shrink-wrapped and that have been removed can only be returned if they are defective and previously agreed by email.

Outdoor Lighting Store will confirm receipt of the cancellation or return notification and in the event of a return, will issue you with a returns number.  We do not accept returns unless we have first been notified and have issued a returns number.  This should be included with your return on a separate piece of paper including your order number and name.  This should not be written on any of the original packaging as we are unable to accept returns where packaging is marked in any way.  

Once we have confirmed your return and issued a returns number, you have 14 days to return the item to us at the address supplied to you. You are responsible for paying any postage or shipping costs incurred when returning the product & we recommend that all returns be sent by a means that a record of the return is available.  We will not issue refunds for any items lost or stolen in transit to us.

Subject to the above, we will refund the purchase price of a returned product within 7 days of receiving it to the supplied address.  The refund will be to the same payment method used for the purchase transaction.

Please note, certain items may be subject to a restocking fee.

Returning a Faulty Item

If you are returning your product because of a physical defect, please advise us of the defect within 14 days. All glass, mirror or plaster breakages should be reported to us within 48 hours of receiving your package.

If you are returning your product because of an electrical defect, please advise us of the defect within 28 days.

You must notify us in writing, (email or letter) within the above time periods from the day after receiving your order, a telephone call is not a valid cancellation.

Our email address for reporting faulty items is info@outdoorlightingstore.co.uk.  Photographic proof of any damage may be requested in order to facilitate your claim.

Outdoor Lighting Store will confirm receipt of the return notification and will issue you with a returns number.  We do not accept returns unless we have first been notified and have issued a returns number.  This should be included with your return on a separate piece of paper including your order number and name.  This should not be written on any of the original packaging.  If the original packaging of a defective product has been damaged or destroyed you should ensure that the returned product is adequately packed for shipment back to us.

Once we have confirmed your return we will arrange a collection of the goods for you and confirm these details by email.  We will not refund un-authorised courier or postal costs.

Subject to the above, we will refund the purchase price of a returned product within 7 days of receiving it in our warehouse.  The refund will be to the same payment method used for the purchase transaction.

 

CONTRACTOR COSTS

Please ensure you are happy with the goods received before booking a contractor to install your products. Outdoor Lighting Store will not be held responsible for any costs incurred either due to late delivery or replacements.

 

PAYMENT

When you place your order we take full payment for the goods online & you must warrant that the credit or debit card you are using is your own.  When you purchase from Outdoor Lighting Store, the charge will appear on your credit/debit card statement as Lighting Online Ltd.

 

CREDIT CARD SECURITY

For your protection, delivery should be to the address to where the credit card is billed. If there is a genuine reason for delivering to a different address please advise us by email. We might request proof of your connection to the delivery address, e.g. If you are moving house, then we can deliver to your new address.

 

DISCLAIMER

Outdoor Lighting Store and Lighting Online Group Limited cannot be held responsible for any injuries or resulting financial loss from accidents resulting from the use of our products, or accidents, errors or omissions related to the order and we disclaim any loss of time and monies resulting from delays to delivery, non-deliveries, and wrong delivery.

Outdoor Lighting Store in no way makes any warranty nor takes any responsibility for any damage, marking or staining caused by our products or for stain removal or any other work. You use all our products at your own risk. Any warranty, representation, statement or undertaking whatsoever that may be expressed or implied by statute, custom or otherwise is hereby expressly excluded. Under no circumstances shall Outdoor Lighting Store be liable for any costs, losses, expenses or damages (whether direct or indirect, consequential, special, economic or financial including any losses of profits) whatsoever that may be incurred through the use of any of our products or any information contained in the Outdoor Lighting Store website.

 

COMPLAINTS

We will acknowledge a complaint within 48 hours and provide a likely timescale for resolving & keep you informed.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.

The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

These Terms & Conditions shall be interpreted, construed and enforced in accordance with Scottish law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.
